Hi!  I’m Emma, age fifteen, grade nine, Homo Sapiens, resident of The Third Planet From the Sun, otherwise called Gaea, Midgard, Terra, The World, or Earth.  Thanks for stopping by!  About me otherwise – I enjoy writing, reading, creating and selling jewelry, writing, knitting, crochet, reading, hiking, writing, backpacking, knitting… did I mention writing?

Right now my Big Project is writing a fantasy book set in a universe I’m making up (really fun!).  Writing a book is a very good experience for me.  I’m learning a lot about technique, and developing my writing style.  In addition to this, I also write occasional short stories, most of which you can find on this blog, and dabble in poetry.

‘So,’ you ask, ‘Elemmírë?’  Good question.  No, it’s not English.  It’s Elvish.  Elemmírë is the name of a star in J.R.R. Tolkien’s Middle Earth.  While I was trying to figure out a name for my blog, Mom suggested that use a word or name from Tolkien’s work, and Elemmírë “clicked”.

Speaking of Tolkien, I might here remark that he is my favorite author, some of my favorite books being The Silmarillion and The Lord of the Rings trilogy.  I also really enjoy the works of Jane Austen, especially Pride and Prejudice, and of Rudyard Kipling.
